The Petit Picoron Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux 2018 is a bold, high-alcohol expression from a sweltering and concentrated vintage . Like the 2015, it is a 100% Merlot sourced from the limestone ridge shared with neighboring Saint-Émilion. The 2018 Petit Picoron retains the estate’s low-intervention style , focusing on the purity of the fruit with minimal oak influence . Appearance: Bright ruby in the glass.

Nose: Good development on the nose, where dark fruits leaves space to spices and some light toasted notes.

Palate: Dry, vibrant palate with intense notes of ripe plum, vanilla, and savory earth.

Ageing: Unlike the flagship label which undergoes extensive barrel aging, the Petit Picoron is aged with only a “hint” of French oak.

Pairing: Its racy tannins and bold dark fruit make it a flexible “Right Bank” red for both refined and rustic meals. Think of a grilled rib eye or a classic Côte de Boeuf.
